With feet!
Plenty of cool things going on Lawrence tonight: The 6th Red Balloon to Do is tonight which has me very excited and an after-party gig at the Granada with Fourth Of July, Ad Astra Per Aspera, Boo and Boo Too and more. Here is the skinny from Lawrence.com daddy-o:
Six years in, the Red Balloon To Do keeps on keepin’ on despite gallery closings along the way and the transient nature of the...

Party time tonight!
Should be a night to remember, with friends and heroes up on the stage. Come hustle with Pink Teeth tonight.
TONIGHT!
Come hang out tonight. Don’t know if it’s $5 or $2, I’ve heard different things but whatev. We’ll party all night, fuck yeah!
Good things come in 3's (or) FUCK YEAH COMICS!
So over the last 2 days (which doesn’t include today)
I bought these 3 comics for cheap and independently
From Astrokitty Comics here in Lawrence. I liked them. Very inspiring. I hope that after I find an apartment, I can begin work on something. Fingers crossed…
Dresser.
I made it to Lawrence and as of day 2, it is fantastic.
But let me say my old home Connecticut is spicing up. I AM Festival announced some killer headliners and CT finally got it together and put up a show listing website. Check it out: http://ctshows.wordpress.com/venues/
Hopefully I will find a place to live today and eat something delicious!

Anyone see this? http://www.subterraneanblog.com/2008/08/07/sunny-day-real-estate-in-circles-live-from-120-minutes-plus-more-tracks/
You can jam out on live In Circles, Seven and Rodeo Jones. It’s awesome. They should get the performance from the Jon Stewart show from 94 MTV up there next.
Holy S friends, I move tomorrow. Sweeet. Lawrence, I cannot wait to hug you!

The website breaker!
I broke the website with today’s update. It’s sad, because it wasn’t great or even close to worth it, all I can say is thank GOD I randomly somehow had a back up. I did have to rewrite much of the code and pretty much redo the entire index of the website, but blah blah it was my own fault. Rats. Anyway, no need to blog today, the update took care of today’s goings on:...
I’m not going to pretend that I came up with this idea, but it’s a good one: in honour of Sub Pop’s 20th, here are 20 of my favourite Sub Pop bands, in order (keep in mind this is personal order, I’m sure Nirvana is everybody’s number one)
21. Dwarves (secret number 21 shhh)
20. CSS
19. Frausdots
18. The Brunettes
17. Blitzen Trapper
16. All Night...
A man of ants, an ant of men.
I don’t know when it happened, but fucking Northwest Connecticut got overrun by ants dude! Yeah, I live in the woods, but growing up here, it was never this bad. I guess I should be glad I’ll be leaving in the fall, but I want to look back fondly at my temporary/all too long return to CT but all I see are ants. I mopped 50% of the house, with the other 50% coming tomorrow. I wish I...
Body checking you out.
Finally, after MONTHS of checking the PPM site almost daily, they put up the No Age/Liars tour split. Whew. I might’ve even been the first chap to buy it! Hoping to get that new Abe Vigoda record and the Party Fowl 7 inch next. I do like the PPM label a lot. I’m calling them my label of the month… is that a feature I should start? Maybe!
If all goes well I will be seeing No...

“The” Bears kick it with Kenny!
Bears woke up early last Friday to play on Cleveland’s Fox 8 morning news, which is über cool. They played a bunch of killer jams and a clip of one of them got posted on the Fox 8 website. The song in question is “Our Time”, a brand new diddy from their upcoming record which I heard last week and can attest that it might be the best record of all time.
Check out the clip at the link right here.

Delay, delay, delay: blog more!
That above is probably one of the coolest, most creative mainstream comic book covers I have seen in a long time. Also, it doesn’t hurt that the inside is all great! Check out the new Captain America, it came out this Wednesday!
Have you heard the new Sun Kil Moon record “April”? I slacked on it, getting it in May (gross), but I have it now and it is all that I can listen to. Looking forward to...

The friend ship.
I have had a bit of an absence from the internet from February on to this very month of March. In fact, I wouldn’t even limit said absence to the web, but to real life as well. What to blame it on? Usually, I would say music but this has been a bit of a dull year/I don’t seem to be as interested and active in that community as I have been in the past, so I couldn’t be that. Is it love? Is it my...

Helvetica & you.
Being snowed in this weekend caused me to watch many movies with Netflix’s instant movies feature. One that I’ve been coming back and forth to since I got the service was Gary Hustwit’s 2007 “Helvetica“, a documentary about the font. Who knew (besides graphic designers and the like) that it is the most widely used font on the planet? Anyway, it was quite entertaining and I was happy to finally...
Alison’s getting her tits pierced!
(photo by Dan S, an old co-worker in Indianapolis.)
Personally, it’s been an exciting time to be a nerd these last couple of days, on all fronts.
To start, last night’s LOST was another amazing entry in a fantastic season. I’ve never been one to be rabid over television unless it is something with my sense of humour, but this show has been very fulfilling to say the least. It’s not something I...
Slick Rick.
I dig on Peter and the Wolf a ton, and if the roads didn’t suck in my parts, I would so be there. But that’s no excuse for you (unless it is), if you’re in Connecticut you should check it out. Also next week Gary Higgins is playing that joint, how exciting.
From Range Life: Dri and Suzannah Johannes head up to Rock Island, Illinois today to A) record sessions at the famed Daytrotter studio, B)...
Radical.
So much to be excited about: a new computer forthcoming for one, “Super Tuesday” tomorrow (hope I can make it over to vote before work, if not FUCK WORK), Criminal trade #2 (read this series) and much much more.
A big thing I am excited about is that I gave in and signed up for Netflix. Even though they have already fucked up pretty big right off the bat, I am still very very exited about. Send...

Fantastic.
I fucking love comics. Mark Millar and Bryan Hitch start their (what I hope to be) legendary run on Fantastic Four next month and I might be more excited for that than I have been for any comic ever in my life. I love FF to death, but in my lifetime, there has never really been a great team on the book… which is sad. Here is hoping that the boys stick around for a couple of years and include the...
Joey’s personal best of 2007 list: extended!
It’s a beautiful day here in the Northwest corner of Connecticut. Sorry for our blogging absence. I started work on my top 10 favourite 7 inches of 2007 (a blog exclusive), but then decided to re-work it and never got to posting it. It’s now up to 12 vinyls and I will try and finish it for tomorrow.
In the meantime, I posted some best of 2007 lists on the main site. You can catch that here if you...

Dear Connecticut: UGH!
It is snowing here so I decided to get down and dirty about something that has been on my mind, mostly triggered from last night.
I ventured over to New Haven, CT last night to say goodbye to one our only bands to ever “make it” in a sense, Hot Rod Circuit. And granted, I haven’t been rabid (if that’s the word) about them since High School and haven’t been able to relate much to their last...
